Urs Fischer’s edition for the New Museum, Chicken Rotation, is a four part multimedia, wall relief, related to his recent series of cartoon like assemblages, which play with ideas of misalignment, subversion, and temporality. Fischer’s work is often humorous and shocking; sometimes created with perishable materials, his art tilts toward the notion of impermanence and upending the status quo. His large-scale installations, sculptures and wall works incorporate everyday objects and foodstuffs, which draw our attention to the passing of time and mortality with an entirely unique and macabre sensibility.“ … I don’t care about big or small. I’m interested in collisions of things, and how objects relate to each other.”
